What is reiki healing?
With this ultimate guide to reiki healing, I hope to give you an understanding of reiki’s history, and its benefits. Also to explain how reiki works and introduce you to reiki’s five principles.
Reiki is a Japanese word derived from “Rei”, meaning “Universal, and “Ki” meaning
“the vital life force”. These Japanese characters, when combined, present the
concept of “Universal Life Force Energy”. Reiki can be defined as the art of
activating, applying, and balancing the universal life force energy that dwells
within every living being, animal, or plant.
We carry this life energy in our bodies in pathways called meridians, in centers
called chakras. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the Aura.
Science has established its existence and with the aid of Kirlian photography we
can see this energy that encompasses all living things.
When the flow of your “Life Force Energy” is disrupted, weakened, or blocked,
emotional or health problems tend to occur. Imbalances can be caused by various
situations occurring in our lives, such as pain, injury, emotional or physical
trauma, destructive lifestyle, and loss. low self-worth, poor relationships.
Reiki is not taught to practitioners in the traditional sense. It is transferred from a
Reiki Master to a student during a Reiki session called an” attunement”. This
initiates you into Life Force Energy and is part of the process of reintroducing you
to Spirit so that you become able to practice Reiki on yourself and in time others.

How does reiki work?
Reiki works holistically, incorporating the body, mind, and spirit by stimulating
your own natural healing abilities. The blocked emotional and physical elements
that lead to illness are cleared. The Reiki practitioner uses their hands to channel
energy to you.
Reiki heals by guiding and balancing the flow of energy in the body.
It raises the vibration of your energy, shifting the blockage to clear, heal, and balance the natural flow of
energy. Healing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual layers. The term
“healing” in this context means, the balancing of energy in the body so it may heal
itself.
